I totally forgot about this post! Nonetheless, here are the long awaited results.
I thought and thought about this one, and let the clock run down to one second, and then I folded.
To be fair - the reasons that I did so were not articulated in my description of the hand. As you can see - I had built my stack up to $1500, and his was over $1200. We had been playing 6 or 5 handed for a while now, and both were just destroying the game. We had not clashed in a pot yet - I got the feeling he was steering clear of me, and I know I was steering clear of him - there was no reason for us to try and beat each other up - the game was too juicy.
To set this hand up, he busted a player for around 200 and we were down to 5 handed. Then, I had just busted another another guy for about $300, and we were 4 handed. Then a short stack left and we were 3 handed. This had just happened in a series of about 5-10 hands. I didn't want to leave and forfeit my big stack, I was hoping more players would sit down. My plan was to play tight until more people showed up.
Anyway, on to the hand. When he raised on the button, this didnt mean a monster - after all, it was 3 handed. While I usually re-raise with QQ - I didnt do so this time because the stack were so deep. We would have enough $$$ for full action on all streets, even if he called my re-raise. The implied odds would be huge. Plus, I was out of position.
When the flop came as it did, I knew I couldn't slowplay. There were too many draws. I was looking to end it quick with a check-raise. When he called my raise, I ruled out AA - I'm pretty sure he would have re-raised then, with the board being so coordinated. I knew that he had a hand that is not better than my QQ right now, but can improve. The way I played my hand, I was representing AQ or AJ.
The club on the turn was a bad card for me. But I knew [Ax]

was a possibility for him here, so I could not give a free card to his 12 outer. I had to bet. When he came over the top, I was shocked. I had represented AQ or AJ - did he think I would fold these hands? In the end, I didn't think he would do this with [Ax]

and folded - but in fact, that is exactly what he did. I wasn't really worried about AA, but there were too many ways he could have the flush. And truthfully, I have been running so bad lately - this was definitely a factor in my folding. I knew that the game would get good again, so I layed it down and went back to attacking the fish.
He made a risky, but good play. Truthfully, I didn't think he would do this, but he did.
