TT hand and a tough river decision

Postby AlexMR » Wed Sep 07, 2005 7:22 pm

This is my fifth hand at the table. Dont have absolutely nothing on villain. I raised AK on my second hand and someone reraised me to 6. I called and then folded to his continuation bet. That s all. That´s sucked!

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed)

MP2 ($70)
MP3 ($48)
CO ($14.35)
Button ($51.10)
SB ($75.15)
BB ($41.85)
UTG ($46.90)
UTG+1 ($39.60)
Hero ($43.50)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with [Th], [Td]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
2 folds, Hero raises to $2.5, 3 folds, SB (poster) calls $2.25, 1 fold.

Flop: ($5.50) [4h], [6h], [7s] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $4, SB calls $4.

Turn: ($13.50) [Tc] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $9, SB calls $9.

River: ($31.50) [Jh] (3 players)
SB calls $59.65 (All-In), Hero ?

Damned river!!!! That card looked like the perfect one to throw a bluff on a PFraiser... How many times you think he´ll have the flush? I had 28 left so it s 2.15:1....not that great I think.

He paid too much to draw, don't make it right by calling when he hits.

You might be beating him if he holds a 5 or two pair. Don't think you're getting enough odds to call unless you have a good read on him. Sadly it looks like a fold :(

Well,

I agree with you all. I made the worst call in a few days and he showed [Ah] [Js] for TPTK and I took the pot. I really see the flush being played like that alot, specially in Party.

I took all the time possible and when I only had 5 seconds left called. It was a bad one. I think I´ll be beat more than 46% of times, which is the necesary # to make the call profitable.
