Hand against MVP

Postby stealthtt385 » Wed Sep 07, 2005 6:34 pm

The players name was mvpsports1 so I am pretty sure it is the one that posts here. I had allready check raised him once with nothing so I was really hoping he would think I was just stealing the pot from him. I am also pretty sure he did not know who I was and I would like to know my stats the 50 or so hands I played with him.

Here is the hand. Should I have just called the flop in the hopes that he would think my hand was not strong and let him fire again on the turn?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (10 handed)

saw flop|saw showdown

MP2 ($39.49)
MP3 ($24)
CO ($49.60)
Button ($43.12)
SB ($57.75)
Hero ($53.95)
UTG ($46.50)
UTG+1 ($46.45)
UTG+2 ($35.30)
MP1 ($74.86)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [2c], [5d]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, 6 folds, Button calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero checks.

Flop: ($1.75) [2d], [5h], [5s] (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $2, Button folds, Hero raises to $5, UTG folds.

Final Pot: $8.75

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins $8.75.

All thoughts welcome, and what did you have MVP?

He could´ve had 9-3 :D . It was HU and you checked, he was trying to steal it right there. I think I bet the flop when heads up like 99.9999999999999% of times. I bet 1.5 there. it only takes about 47% of folds to be profitable...looking for small edges all the time

I also like the lead out for different reasons.

I like to steal those flops a lot. Leading out when I have it gives my future steal attempts credibility.

I do bet flops like that from the blind regardless of what I am holding 95% of the time, I guess the fact that I flopped a monster made me play it poorly. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

Man... way to throw me under the bus there Stealth... :D The way that session went, if it was today, I probably had AA...   Since you gave me ABSO-fucking-lutely NO clue as to when I played this masterpiece... I'll have to do a little research...

BTW... I would either lead out or check/call... Maybe you coulda got another ill advised bet out of me...

A bomb huh?

This is funny.....considering I think of myself as possibly the most weak-tight player in the history of poker.

I am dead on break even huh? Well that is a little odd. Have I showed down any hands?
