I checked the turn hoping he would catch just what he did. Do you think I could have just gone all in behind him on the river and gotten his stack?

No doubt in my mind... you're not gonna find too many people that will fold when they hold the high card of a double paired board... He probably had the "call any" button already checked on his screen..

Agree with MVP. Notice the boards that often split, and when you can beat the obvious split, go all-in. Very tough to fold when you know you have half of the pot coming to you.

same deal if there's a flush on the board, and you have a higher flush card in your hand... or a straight on the board and you have a flush... People will almost always call your allin

You wouldve stacked him if you bet the turn.

He wouldnt have folded most likely and the pot wouldve been big enough for a much big river bet, but more importantly, he bet $.50 into a $3.50 pot on the flop and called your raise. Most of the time he will have the flush draw there. Make him pay to draw.

If he had the flush draw, I was hoping he hit it on the river but when he bet out the river, I changed my thoughts that he had the Ace but for some reason, I didn't go all in to take it all. That's $25 more that I should have had.

Still, you should bet the turn, but since you can already beat the flush, you should give him correct oidds to call with the draw.

Dont give him a free shot. You make a little more by betting the turn even if he misses the flush on the river and you stack him for sure if he hits it on the river and the pot is big enough for him to commit himself.

Agree with ice here, bet that turn, also, it looks suspicious if you check the turn and come showing aggression on the river.
