Anyway when a fish raises you know he has you beat - you have 9 flush outs (7 if he already has a flush) and possibly 4 overcard ones - but these are dead if he has a flush or set.

$10 is already in the pot. You bet another $23. I don't figure there is much if any folding equity. I don't think this was great play. To be hionest vs a fish and a rock (who are both passive) and assuming average WtSD% on both, I would check here. Passive players may well give you the card for free. When the fish bets the pot (as he is likely tto) I would know i was beat and fold..if he was so weak as to bet small enough to give me implied odds for the flush draw well that is good too..

When a fish raises, you know he has you beat? Youre kidding right?

Normally when a calling station raises; yes you are beat. "elephants" never raise unless they have a monster.

I don't understand your weak betting throughout this hand. I like a 4x raise preflop to get idiots out of the hand.

On the flop...you makea small bet. What does this bet accomplish? It just asks for you to get raised. You need to bet $8 here to put these guys to a decison. You have two overs and the nut flush draw...though you have a potentially great hand..the best thing for you would be to have them fold.

Also if they raise a real bet from you..it's easier to know they have a legit hand.

I just think you need to bet stronger.

Kenny, I'm curious, if you always bet that aggresively, you must be taking a lot of smaller pots on the flop, right? To compensate for that, do you raise more preflop so those flops are bigger? Then I would think that if you raise more preflop (as amount), you have to raise more often so others don't see you only raising with the best hands.
So your play becomes LAG? I'm curious how you see these trade-offs.
