Flopped Set Turn Boat...

Postby idog519 » Tue Aug 30, 2005 2:28 pm

Playing live $5/5... in MP and I limp with pocket 66 another limper and the blinds see the flop 10 6 7 rainbow. SB bets $15 into $20 pot, BB calls, EP calls, I raise to $80. SB folds, BB calls, EP folds. Turn is a another 10. This is the first hand you have seen him play. What do you put this guy on? Did he flop the straight, two pair. on the Turn he bets out $125. What do you do? Do I flat call my boat and wait till the river to get the rest of my money in or do you raise right there. I have a little less than $400 on the turn. He has about $700.

I put him on the straight or perhaps a 10. I'm almost certain I have the best hand so I flat call the turn b/c I didn't want to scare him away. River is another 7...Geez...he bets out $150. Sounds like a call me bet to me. Nevertheless, what do you do?

I took a minute and decided that I want to see what he called a raise with on the flop and his style of play. Even though, I'm most likely beat. He turns over 10 5 off. HAHA. he called a raise on the flop way behind and bet out on the turn meanwhile I was actually an 85% favorite on the turn and he went runner runner to take down a $600 pot. Gotta love live action...oh the fishes...How would you guys have played it?

As iceman says - all-in - you never know what the RIVER will bring and it was the worse card in the deck. A Ten and you could fold since any pair bigger than a 6 would beat you.

There were 4 cards left in the deck (1 Ten and 3 sevens). You had bottom set which is fragil to a pair other than a SIX.

Yes, you have the odds but an all-in bet is the way to go. If he folds then you don't see the last card. 8-) If he calls you with T5o then long term you win.

Did you see the WPT final table the only card to save Tuan was a 7 and a 7 hit the river. He won 2.8 million.

Stuff happens.

Also, ask yourself if he would bet $150 into a $450 pot with the board double paired with out a TEN or a SEVEN? He has to figure that you might have a TEN?

Not sure. Iceman, you call the river? Pot odds worth a crying call?
