I think you played it very poorly. I also don't see the point in focusing on critisising the opponents play since we can't (and shouldn't) do anything to change that. You might as well bet the flop because you won't get any action by checking it, ok, maybe someone with JJ will fire a bet hoping to take it down but the second you call or raise he'll be out of there. There's no upside to checking it. When you raise preflop people put you on AK, and when you don't follow up with a flop bet mayne (including me) will smell a rat. You can't check and hope someon will "catch a piece" since any piece they will catch will have to beat trips to give you action. If someone catches middle pair on the turn, they're not going to die with it, only a straight, flush or boat will give you action.
The way you make money on this flop is against a weaker K, that's the only strength of AK too. Just bet the flop and hope that someone called with KQ-KTs. Getting cute with trips is very stupid and often backfires, they are so easily outdrawn, play them fast. If you had KK I could see checking since you have the deck crippled and everyone is pretty much drawing dead, but not with AK unless you have a maniac behind you.
The mini-checkraise on the turn is also a horrible move as far as I am concerned. If there was any doubt earlier you had a monster you made it clear now and you're also giving him odds to draw if he picked up a flush draw on the turn. The worst of two worlds, you're telegraphing your hand AND giving him odds. I don't see any benefits of your postflop play.
