Postby rickjr82 » Sat Sep 17, 2005 11:50 pm

he made his 2 pair on the turn and hes not going to lay down the hand should i wait to push a non k or q on the river
i know i got my money in with the best of it but in those situations would anybody wait?
im almost positive i would fold the river

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed)

BB ($41.86)
UTG ($23.05)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with [2h], [2c]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
2 folds, Hero calls $0.25, 1 fold, MP3 calls $0.25, 2 folds, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($1) [3c], [2d], [Kc] (4 players)
SB bets $1, BB folds, Hero raises to $3, MP3 folds, SB calls $2.

he's got 4 outs on the turn. that makes you something like a 9:1 favorite. if you won't get all-in in a situation like that....when would you?

also...if you raise the flop but call the turn...and a club hits the river....you lose your action most likely.

thats true about the club but i just couldnt see him folding the river for anything so i thought i could bring my hand from a 80% favorite to a 100% one

You can't know for certain he has KQ there...he could have AK, KQ, KJ, higher set... and i don't think you can fold on the river, even if the kings pair... so i wouldn't worry too much about it.
