An example of folding an overpair.

2/4NL

EP limper is a big station. The button is decent, but not great. Everyone has about $400.

Dealt [Kh][Ks] in MP. 1 EP limper to me. I raise to $20. Button calls, blind calls, limper calls.

FLOP$84 (4 handed)
[3s][5d][Th]

Blind checks, Ep limper bets $4 (haha yeah right), I raise to $60.
Button calls, blind folds, EP limper who bet $4 in front of me calls.

uhoh. The flop looked harmless, but what are they calling a $60 bet with? There really isn't a legit draw on the board.

TURN $264 (3 handed)
[3s][5d][Th][2s]

EP checks. I check. Button bets $100. EP calls.

..well I didn't like the bet from the button, but the call from EP is even worse. Even though he's a big station, neither of them fear my hand. Set over set possibly?? I type in the chat "heh" and fold without much hesistation.

RIVER $464
[3s][5d][Th][2s][7c]

EP checks. Button moves in for around $200, EP calls.

Button shows [5h][5c] for a set on the flop.
EP shows [Td][5s] for two pair on the flop.

I love that one outer on the flop that beat me :) Anyway, with no real draws out and so much action, this was an easy fold. Just wanted to show some of the newer players that folding an overpair can be correct in a lot of situations. This one was obvious.

Thoughts?

Very well done, again! Good fold against too much action.

One question, Kenny, if you were the EP limper with T5o, what would you have done on the flop and turn?
I would have lead to the raiser on the flop (but not with 4$).
After the 4$ lead, your raise and the button call I would surely not have called but reraised, right? Would you play for your stack with T5o here? I would (and lose).

This is NOT a silly question :x .
What would you do with two to pair on an uncoordinated board, is this better?
