Couple of hands

Postby Twelver » Wed Aug 03, 2005 8:59 am

So I made the move up to $50 NL last night and got f'n drilled. I don't think my play was that bad, I just think I ran into some bad luck. Couple of hands for analysis.

1. I am in Middle position with [Ac] [Ah]. UTG makes it $3 to go, UTG+1 calls, I reraise to $8. BB is all in, UTG and UTG +1 call.

pot = $31.50
Flop = [6s] [Qh] [4c]

Checks to me. I lead out for $10, UTG min raises to $20, UTG +1 folds, I have like $16 left and push it in. He calls and flips over [Qs] [Qd].

Could I have played it any differently. Anyone get away after the min raise?

2. I get [Ah] [Ks] in MP. I make it $2 to go. CO and Button call.

Pot = $6.75
Flop = [Kc] [4d] [5d]
I lead out for $4, CO min raises, Button folds, I call???

Pot = $22.75
Turn = [Qh]
I check, CO bets $5, I call ( I am thinking I should have raised here?)

Pot = $32.75
River = [Jd]
I check, CO bets $35 which puts me all in.

I fold. Did I let him catch his flush on the river here with something like AXs, or did he already have a made hand? How bad did I screw it up?

I assume you both have full stacks? Yes the turn shows weakness so if you did raise, i would make it $15 and if he calls that, I hope for a cheap showdown. If he raises, you have not even put in half your stack but you are not committed. If he has a set, you are drawing dead. If he has KQ, you are drawing to 3 outs. Don't think you are commited.

The problem with your raise is that you are out of position and either have to check to him on the river or push. If you had position, you could raise and then likely check down the river.
