Chip spewing or good lag play?

Postby Kalle » Thu Aug 18, 2005 4:11 am

I have tried to play more loose and make some bluffs lately. It doesnt always work out as it is supposed to. Three hands from 400 NL:

1# 6-handed. I sit down and post to play in CO. 1 limper, I check with 76o, blinds play. Pot is $16 and the flop is A94r. Unknown BB bets $10. I don't think he has a big hand because most players are so predictable and they dont lead out with good hands because they prefer to checkraise so that everybody at the table can see that they have a good hand.
Fold, I call, fold. Turn is a king. BB bets $20, I make it $60.

2# 9-handed. I start with $460. Unknown ($233) limps UTG+2. Folded to good tight aggressive button (covers) who raises to $15. I reraise to $45 with [Qs][8s] in big blind. Limper calls and button folds. Flop is [Ah][Jh][Th]. Woho, a double belly buster but I'm not that excited and decide to give up. I check, guy bets $25 into $107 pot (duh), I change my mind and raise to $85. He calls. Turn is a black 4. Check, check. There is $277 in the pot now and he has $100 left. My plan here was to put him in on river, if it wasn't a heart, an ace or a queen.

3# 10-handed. I openraise to $16 with black AK in MP. Loose bad button calls. I have $400 and he has more than that. Flop is [4d][7h][8h], $38 in pot and I bet $35, he calls. Turn is the [2d], I don't think he has a monster, so I bet $80. He calls, looks a little like a draw. River is [7d]. I check, he bets $165. There is now $433 in the pot. I think for a long time then call.

Let me know what you think

Hand 1-- I like the aggressive 6-max attack plan; however, I don't like it here because you almost no outs. I'd pick a different spot.

Hand 2--I like the play. I'm a little concerned that he almost has to call with his last hundred because he's pot committed.

Hand 3--You're calling with A high, so your saying that he missed every draw, didn't have a set, didn't have any pair. His bet was weak so I can see your rationale, but I prefer to look for easier situations.

#1) Why post in the cutoff in 6 max? I dont mind the play if you have a read on the guy that hes not a callig station but otherwise.....dont like it

#2) Hate this one from every angle.

#3) UGH!

Kalle, no offense, but your LAG play needs work.
