Check with intention to call - when is this best done?

Can somebody please elaborate a little on this one!
There was a thread once in which I saw the concept mentioned, but I can't find it.

I suppose this "Move" can be a big +EV when holding solid value on the river and there's some obvious draw that missed, and the opposition has a tendency to bluff in that situation. Right?

Any other angles on the concept?

Every time you have too much hand to fold, but will only be called by a better hand if you bet or raise?
