Calling an Allin with TPTK

Postby t-bone » Sat Oct 22, 2005 9:02 am

My usual $1/$2 PL game, I have about $300, other guy in the hand is ultra-aggressive and tricky, and he has me covered. This particular night I had been playing pretty tight and the only hands of mine he saw at showdown were big.

6 handed, villain is UTG and limps, button limps, I'm in sb with AK and raise to $12. Villain calls, button folds, we're heads up.

Flop is 4 9 K with 2 hearts. I lead for $30, he beats me into the pot with a min-raise. Now I had seen him do this with all kinds of draws, but he is also very capable of having a hand here. The only problem is, the only hand I can put him on that's beating me is 44. I don't think K9 is possible, and I am positive he would have raised 99 preflop. I tought he had KQ or KJ, maybe even a nut-heart draw.

I re-raise to $160, again he beats me into the pot with the rest of his chips, putting me allin.

I think and think and think, finally I decide he's got KQ with hearts at best. I call.

Thoughts?
