building a new bankroll

Postby BadBeatMan » Wed Aug 03, 2005 9:19 pm

I just moved into a new house, and it cost pretty much my entire roll, so I am rebuilding....
What do u guys think...

intitally deposited 50 on empire....

playing $25 NL I am up to 200 now.
I plan on building to $400 before moving up to $50 NL
If I drop 4 buy-ins then i am back to the $25 NL games

When I build to $1000 I will move up to $100 NL

I plan on building to $4000 before moving up to the $1/$2 game where I used to play...

I like my plan b/c my risk of ruin seems pretty low, and it's not a blaze thru the stakes, just a slow and steady build.

I plan on playing 2 tables at a time until I move up to $100 NL, bc there is no point in getting tricky at the low stakes tables, tight ABC is pretty much the only way I can play those tables.

feedback appreciated.

If you are willing to take the risk and are comfortable with the stakes, moving to $100NL at $800 and moving back down if you lose three buy ins and moving up to $200NL sometime near $1500. If you were playing $200NL before the home purchase you will feel comfortable playing it on a float up and down system if you have too. Your path is plenty safe, but if your $50 is replacable, a more risky path might be best.

I like the method that would most rapidly get you back to the previous stakes the fastest. But I might be less risk adverse than others...

Only 2 tables because I dont know how to set my resolution to where i can see more than 2 tables at once, even when I'm playing 2 tables they overlap eachother.

1. Right click anywhere in your desktop.
2. Far right tab is the settings.
3. Set to 1600 x 1200 but I am going to assume you don't have the video card to do this. Set it as high as you can. The overlap will be there but you may be able to see what is going on.

Damn it. I have taken 1K from my roll. I have been excusing myself for not going up. I will play NL50 today with 1200! and If I drop 4 buy ins, bonus included, I will step back.

My goal is NL100 by september!

BadBeat, it seems that my7 game has too mcuh variance because I have lost 7 buy ins a lot of times, and once lost 12buy ins. The key point is stepping back if bad times hit you. I will try you method!

It might be an idea to invest in a 19" CRT or 20" LCD monitor which allows 1600 x 1200 size resolution - it'll allow you to fit 4 party tables on one screen without any overlapping. By the sounds of it, you're a winning player on 2 tables and it stands to reason that you'd only be winning more playing 4 tables at once - even if your BB/100 drops slightly due to fewer reads, the amount of hands played would double, the monitor should pay for itself in no time playing at the higher stakes.
