Bluffing the chatty

Postby droqqa » Tue Sep 13, 2005 2:43 pm

I was playing some 5/10 (6 max) the other day, and there was this guy on both my tables who kept laying down big hands in big pots and then talking about it. His set of jacks got cracked by 67 earlier on a board of 59K8J. He bet the flop after raising, the guy called with the gutshot on the flop, hit on the turn, but it went check-check. Then they got it all-in on the river. He went on a diatribe about how he should have folded - you cant call all-in without the nuts. This wasnt an act either - this guy wanted validation from the other players. He also said he folded KQ on a Q72Q board to a smallish raise on the turn and boasted about how he did not go broke to his opponents AQ - in an unraised pot. There must have been at least 2 more hands like this. Which brings me to this hand...

6 handed - I have a stack of about 1100, so does villian. Villian raises from CO to 35. I call in the BB with [5d] [7d].

Flop [8c] [8s] [Ad] Pot = $75.

I bet $75, he raises to $250, I go all-in. Thoughts? :D

“The real things to know is that folks will stand to lose more than they will to win. That’s the most important percentage there is. I mean, if they lose, they’re willin’ to lose everything. If they win, they’re usually satisfied to win enough to pay for dinner and a show. The best gamblers know that.” - Pug Pearson

These kind of plays show why it's so important to have a proper bankroll and no fear :)
