Avoid betting turn here??

Postby Zuccala » Sun Oct 23, 2005 1:08 pm

This is a $25NL game

Dealt [As][Kc] in LP, and EP raise for.75and only me in the hand.

Flop comes [Ad][4s][8h] he leads for .75 and I raise to $2.50, he calls

(at this point i know he is on an A)

Turn is [Jh] i bet $4 he calls

River is a blank, and i put him in for his last $3

He Has [Ah][Jd]

Now should I have checked the turn? After he calls my flop riase he is either on a high A or a garbage 2 pair? Now on the turn, that was a scare card for me? I think i should have checked and made a value bet on end. Any suggestions??

If you bet on the turn I would bet 7$ to put him all-in. Puts more pressure on him.

I think your bet was fine. You were just unlucky that he had AJ. Against his possible other holdings AQ, AT, KK, QQ he might have called your turn bet and you would have won his stack.
