Any doubt he had the flush?

Postby briachek » Sat Jul 30, 2005 9:14 pm

I get 1 set all session and this happened. I didn't want to give a free card to a chaser.

After I bet the river, he types "u dont have it. bluff" and then he raises me. That suspicious as hell of someone that has the flush.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed)

UTG ($105)
UTG+1 ($79.70)
Hero ($100)
MP2 ($178.47)
MP3 ($4)
CO ($210.50)
Button ($135.87)
SB ($291.35)
BB ($408.88)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with [5d], [5c]. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $1, Hero calls $1, MP2 calls $1, 4 folds, BB checks.

Flop: ($4.50) [5h], [7h], [8h] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $4, MP2 calls $4, BB folds, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: ($12.50) [3d] (2 players)
Hero bets $8, MP2 calls $8.

River: ($28.50) [2s] (2 players)
Hero bets $15, MP2 raises to $50, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $93.50

Results in white below:
MP2 doesn't show.
Outcome: MP2 wins $93.50.

Should I have not bet that river?

If there ever was a time to be sure about something but not actually *knowing* it, this would be it. Of course he had the flush.

it could have been a missed draw, but with him taunting you it looks like he had the flush. without a good read, i would never call this down, with or w/o the comment

hate the river bet. Check this puppy and try to keep the pot small.
