AQ bb and fold to SB raise?

Postby AlamedaMike » Wed Sep 07, 2005 2:00 pm

Hi guys -

I had AQ in the BB. The BTN made a steal raise and the SB re-raised. I don't think I can call here?

I typed AQ :( and the SB said 'pussy' the BTN was on a steal. I said 8-) I can not overcall a raise. He said he had [7s] [2c].

Good fold?

yeah, I though of that now I need to wait until I really have [7s] [2d] and then re-raise him. See if he remembers. Hopefully he will be on a steal.

Hey Ilke the chick in blue

Thanks

It's not a "good fold" it's a super-easy everyday fold of the routine kind. You shouldn't even be thinking about it, just hitting the fold button as quick as you can.

Also, defending your blinds is something you do in FL or tournaments, in NL or PL casgames there's little point*. Let them have it, and then steal someone elses to compensate if you must. Calling raises out of position with marginal hands is a deathtrap in NL.

I agree that you shouldn't tell people what you're folding. Now he'll think you're a pussy and will try to bully you, if you're not comfortable with that you should just fold and shut up. Telling or showing what you fold is a sign that you want confirmation and want people to think you're a good player, which basically means you're giving away information that they can use against you and putting yourself at a psychological disadvantage. Don't do it.

*This is my opinion, YMMV

I fold so fast that my skirt flies up in my face. Not worth it.

Also, I'd never be telling them I had AQ. NEVER!

I did not want to get into a war with the SB with AQ - so I gave up my blind.

Thanks
