AKoff hand: Do you bet this river?

Postby AlexMR » Fri Aug 05, 2005 8:41 am

I am in this situation a lot. I dont like the pot so big with TPTK against a raiser.

Absolute, 0.5BB NL ( I moved up finally!! Doing very well so far)

I have 115 in chips, have every1 covered.

On the SB I am dealt [As], [Kd] . One limper, UTG, and CO raises to 2.5. Folded to me and I call. UTG Calls.

FLOP: $8. [Ks],[6d],[8c]

I check, UTG checks and CO bets $3. I min raised to $6. UTG folds and CO thinks fo a while and calls.

Turn. $16. [2d] I lead for $. He thinks for about an hour and calls.

River $29. [6s] . Uhmmm....

What do you do? I think checking is the correct move. I dont have reads on CO but I remember playing against him in the NL25 tables. I think he is a decent TAG, but cant say for sure. Dont you think checking here would induce a bluff? wouldnt you try to bluff a guy with 60% bluff to river bet in this situation?

I would have raised more on the flop. min raising doesn't really give you any info on his hand. I only like min raising when I don't really care what the villan has, b/c I am holding a monster. Your turn bet which I think is $6.50 if I did my math right looks a little weak too. On the River I would check and then call a decent bet.
