but with the srt8 draw ,flush draw and over cards ,would it be -ev to bet against the loose raiser, with a pfr of 18 he is probably raising any ace ,high suited connectors etc

With a pfr of 18 he could be raising with any low pkt pair, any small suited connector, besides he was in late position and could have simply been trying to steal the blinds. I think Ice did an analysis a few months back and said it is +EV to ALWAYS make a continuation bet against one opponent.

Like I said if he comes back over the top or if he calls then you are most likely done with the hand.

More times than not, against one opponenet a continuation bet will take the pot down.

I like to lead about 2/3 pot to 3/4 pot here, with the big reraise preflop I think you can probably be effective with about a half pot bet unless he is hyper aggressive. He could easily have you beat or be raising 77-99 with his 18% of hands raised. He may put you on AK, AA or KK, if I get called I'm done with the hand unless a J hits or he bets weak enough to get to a cheap showdown and I don't believe him.

The way I play this hand is entirely dependent on my read of this guy's flop play.

If he bets lots of flop (i.e. high AF), then I like the check raise. You can represent a set of AA or KK (a logical hand for you). If he calls, well you are trailing a str8 or 2 pair and I'm shut down. If he checks behind, then you are probably ahead too.

If he's tight post flop, then I'm just betting out 3/4 pot. You can represent all kinds of hands here and he'd have to be a CS to call with just Ax.
