QQ 50NL 6m: TEACH ME BASICS PLZ

No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
6 players


Stack sizes:
UTG: $225.55
Hero: $50.40
CO: $64
Button: $49.75
SB: $61.45
BB: $47.15

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with [Qd] [Qc]
Hero raises to $1.75, CO folds, Button raises to $5, 2 folds, Hero raises to $16.75, Button raises all-in $49.75, Hero folds :(

I don't even have 10 hands on the guy yet. This ridiculously standard? I've been running pretty bad lately (KK running into AA twice in the last 200 hands) and pussying out in these situations now.

Don't 4 bet if you are going to fold to a 5-bet

You can figure on a a guy 3-betting at $50NL as having AA/KK/AK just about everytime. It's just rare for people to get overly aggresssive that those stakes.

So, you don't need to 4-bet to figure him for AA/KK.

I flat call preflop.

16 possible AK combinations
6 possible AA
6 possible KK

equity vs. AK is ~55%
equity vs. pairs is ~17%
so if we exclude any bluffing, [(16*.55)/28] + [(12*.17)/28] = .314 + .073 = .387 or 38.7% equity not 40% but pretty close assuming my math is correct...I haven't had any coffee yet.

Thank you for the info, I see now how the likelihood of AK is higher.


Where does the /28 come from? Also is 40% good because of the pot size already?
