I just got back from RR and played a hand that reminded me of this thread.

UTG+1 raises preflop, I three bet in the hijack with and everyone else folds, he calls.
He leads into me on a flop of , I raise and he thinks for maybe 15 seconds and folds face up (so he can get sympathy from his neighbors).

This illustrates this guy's error in thinking of the 1010 hand as "either being 50/50 or crushed". You have position and that is a definite advantage.
