PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP with [8s], [8c].
UTG calls, Hero raises, 1 fold, Button calls, 2 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (7.50 SB) [Jh], [8h], [Qd] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, Button calls, UTG calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) [5d] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, Button calls, UTG calls.

River: (8.25 BB) [Kd] (3 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, Button folds, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 12.25 BB


anyone play this differently?

Its tough, he doesnt show strength all hand, and being UTG he's most likely to have backed into a JK two pair I think then a straight or a flush, so I probably raise the river.

Actually now that I think about it, I may just call here and hope to induce a call from the button. You win the same # of bets and lose 1 less when you're beat.

He's just a moron, and you should follow this moron around like a lost puppy, because a) if he limps UTG with J4s, he's a nitwit.
b) if he limps UTG and calls a raise OOP with J4s, he's a moron.
c) If he calls your bet, after calling a raise OOP with a backdoor flush draw and middle pair no kicker, he's just a plain simple donkey.

I would have played it the exact same way as you did, and I would've lost the same way too.
