WSOP Main Event

How do these people get into this damn event playing like they do? Calling an all in with K9? Playing AA like a pussy? Raising 20x bb preflop with AA preflop? Calling raises with A6 off? Going all in with TP ten kicker with gutshot on suited flop? Man these guys suck!

Also, that speech that guy gave before he called Jennifer Harmon when he has the straight flush is just brutal. What an asshole.

Well, since when has the prospect of all that money made anyone act rationally?

Didn't you hear that guys rationale for the call with K9? He only payed $220 bucks to get in so why not make ridiculous calls and blow your chance at a 3.4 million percent return on your money. Seriously, what a douche.

The moron with his speech, I was only half watching and I though he might have had more money left behind him and was trying to make sure she called. What he did is a not cool, there is no reason to show up your opponant when you have the nuts. But as someone else said, this will be shown over and over and over until everyone has seen it a million times and this guy will forever be know as an asshole who slow rolled Jen Harmon. Way to build your poker legacy.

A funny thing has happened to me. I no longer have a desire to watch poker on TV. Before I couldn't get enough of it. Now I just don't care so much. I play mostly cash games and their play isn't usually applicable to me.

Trodgers, the funny thing is I have been saying the same thing for the last year. The coverage is all bad beats and lucky cards. Watching the Jen Harmon hand you knew she was going to get sucked out. Watcing doyles 10th bracelet the only hands they really showed were doyle getting lucky and outdrawing everyone. They didnt even show good poker. The one thing i love is these TV shows are what a lot of people use to learn how "The pro;s play." What this all equals for me is some moron calling my bet with bottom pair vs my set because they saw Doyle do it. Money in the bank. My plea to ESPN, please keep showing Raymer calling raises with J9 and KQs and winning huge pots, teach these morons that KQs is a good hands to call a raise with.

I forget the details for the J9 hand but in raymer's defense, the guy only min raised preflop on the KQs hand.

Brian, my point was not to insult Raymer. I have a lot of respect for him and his poker skills. My point was that these people on TV watch Raymer win a big pot after calling a raise with KQ and now they think that is a solid play. Inlike Raymer a good chunk of these people arent going to know how to play it after the flop when the dont flop the 2nd nut flush. These are the same people who are going to flop a K vs my AA or Q vs my KK and not be able to fold the hand. Poker on TV is great my my wallet.

How about Farha calling a raise AND reraise with [9s][2s] and then chasing his flush like a true fish. There will be lots more fish swimming upstream now because if Sammy did it, it must be a good play.

This is why I like the WPT hands down compared to the world series coverage

It's funny, I thought I was the only one. I'm like TRex, I just don't have any desire to watch poker anymore. We were eating out the other night, and Lynn said we should get a dish or cable so I could watch. I told her I've got too much more important to do than watch bad poker. (Not the players, but the edited play.)

Agree on poker on TV. Brings the fish.

If you want to see how good Raymer really is, read some of his posts on 2+2 and rgp. He's not just good. He's really good. His explanation of the "stop and go" is worth digging out. Very good move and very profitable.
