Here is that shows that there is A LOT to learn about tells in a live game.

makes me wish there was a casino nearby.

Playing live it is truly amazing what you can pick up on people. That is the one of the aspects that I miss most about live play. The other is the half naked cocktail waitresses bringing me St. Pauli Girl darks

Caro's book of tells is very good. When I first started playing after having read that book it just opened up a whole new world at the table. There is so much information available from typical opponents if you are paying attention with both your eyes and ears. I don't know how many hundreds of times I have heard a player make a nearly inaudible sigh as if he had lost his best friend when the river card hit and yet when the action was on him he was firing a bet or raising  and invariably always held a VERY strong hand.

I think one of the reasons that I dont have the sucess in online games that I do in live play, is that playing online I feel almost naked without being able to see my opponants face and listen to the way he states his bet and throws his money in the pot. Luckily for me So. Cal has great live action and Vegas is only 4 hrs away.

Action Dan Harrington wrote in his book he watches people's hands. He said those are the one thing people don't watch what their doing with. Moving chips back and forth, picking them up to bet before their turn, using different hands for different bets. It's interesting.

I love playing live. Too bad we have such cheesy stakes in Florida.

Might mess up the church's bingo games?

There are tons of casinos all over the place. Slots are within an hour's drive anywhere. Dog tracks abound. Bingo parlors all over. Yet, play a decent poker game? Hell no. It's ridiculous. Can't figure it out, to be honest with ya. Why does state law set the limit $2? It's very strange, and archaic.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate and say tells are overrated. I learn much more about a person's hand from betting patterns than I do from where they are looking and whatnot. I certainly look for tells in live games but I don't find them that useful.
