I ended up pulling an all nighter last night studying for my midterm and it was worth it, Im pretty sure I got 90+% on it so yayme.

For those who don't know I'm a pre-law student right now. I have one year left and then I'm doin the big 4 year professional program. Excited for that. Maybe poker will be at the point when I graduate I can take some of the bite out of the insane cost it takes to get a friggin education in this country. Like SRSLY, I pay AT LEAST 50% tax plus GST PLUS all the BS other fees plus I am in one of the worlds most oil producing nations yet Im paying $1.10/L for gas and I have to pay $10000 a year to get an education I could probably manage with a yearly $5 membership to the library. Getting that piece of paper will be nice, and it opens doors 2Bsure, but its still total bullshit.


Anyway, in between my studying sesh I was playing poker trying to dig my way out of the 600BB hole I fell in the last two session and though the bad beats and cold deckedness didnt let up for one minute, I kept my cool and still won 5 buyins lolz. If I wasnt getting sucked out on and running good I would be up a limit by now. Soon. Very soon.

Also, I think I managed to get my ex gf to agree to come down next thursday for a 'visit.' It was valentines so she was all lonely, you know chix. She said something that made my ears prick up:

PS-Im gonna start 1tabling 25NL at $350. If I lose 2 buys there Ill move down. I just have a burning lust in my body for something other than the atrocious poker at this level and don't predict 25NL would be much harder to beat.

Ugh. Took at shot at NL25 today and sorta wished I didnt. I ran bad and got coolered a bunch.

The players are much more aggressive but just as loose so it will definitely be a move forward when I'm ready to move. I was swonging everywhere. As high as +3buyins and as low as -2.

Had AQ and of course i turn my straight but some other guy had KJ for a higher straight and I lost 200BB and quit. Funny, I knew he had KJ but called anyway.

Back to NL10.

I'm on the same quest as you are. I've been able to roll $50 up to over $800 in the last month. 2 things learned.....

1. Play the level that you're rolled for. It's amazing how much difference it makes when you don't worry about dropping a buy in or 2.

2. There's not really a difference in NL10 and NL25 except for how quick your BR can disappear. Hence, #1.

K update time. Taking everyones advice and my own good conscience I only took that one shot at NL25 before just continuing to grind it out at NL10. After my bad run a few weeks ago (which was mostly bad play) I tightened up and ran not bad and now, I'm almost moving up.

YAYYYYYYYYYYY me.


Not too sure about going with a 500 or 550 BR but im sick of NL10 and I get ~$100 rakeback in a week or so so as soon as I hit 500 I'm going to 2 table 10NL and 25NL at the same time til I get used to it and then just do my regular 4 tabling of NL25.

Someone please remind me not to ever play in the small donkaments. The small tourney games on absolute are just STUPID. Getting it all in with AA vs. Q10, KJ, 89, 22, and QJ and I lose everytime. Meh whatever.
