Any Excel whizzes here?

Postby TheUnknownPlayer » Thu Mar 31, 2005 5:14 pm

I am having difficulties creating a chart from an excel worksheet and to tell the truth - I'm not sure it can be done. Any experts here?

Just a rank amateur with Excel here.
Which version are you running?
Have you tried using the chart wizard?
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

It's super-duper easy. Chart wizard. Use it. Love it.

Select "Insert" --> "Chart." There's a dozen or two types of charts, etc.

2003 Version - I've gotten into chart wizard and have done some basic things - but what I want to do doesn't appear to be basic. *s*

This should be fairly straightforward. Put your handedness on the top row (leaving the first cell blank). On the second line put "Equity" and then the random hand equity for each handedness. On the subsequent lines put each hand and its equity for the handedness.

Then go to Insert->Chart, choose line as the chart type, and "line with markers displayed..." as the sub-type.

Hit next, and then go to the spreadsheet and press Ctrl while you select the rows you want (click on the row number), including the handedness row and the random hand equity row. If you hit finish now you should get the graph you're looking for. If you want a title and labels and such, you can keep going through the rest of the wizard.

Nortonesque, I have a feeling that with only a limited amount of distinguishable colors and such a large amount of data points, the graph will be too cluttered and unreadable in places. Hope I'm wrong.
