Ongame (Poker Room) Network Warning

Postby emmasdad » Thu Jun 15, 2006 9:12 am

I feel compelled to advise everyone here who may not keep up with some of the other forums on the internet that there are cash flow and payout problems at several Ongame (Poker Room) Network skins. These include about Bayou Poker, Carnival Poker, and now, quite the horror story about CheckNRaise poker which can be found

I would exercise a very health dose of caution before depositing into any Ongame skin without thouroughly researching the financial stability and affiliations of that skin with any of the three sites mentioned above until these issues are resolved. If I had any substantial deposit at any Ongame site, I would consider cashing out the majority of those funds immediately to beat any rush on the bank. Ongame has a responsibility not just to provide the software and game platform for its skins, but it has a responsibility to all of its skins to regularly review the financial stability of those skins and to revoke the software license if those skins do not meet minimum acceptable standards. I have not heard one thing about Ongame doing any such review.

I understand that many of you call Ongame home, and that Iceman is an affiliate of PokerRoom. PokerRoom's financials are not in question at this time, it is only these skins having reported financial trouble (and there are at least 66 Ongame skins). Still, I encourage you to exercise all caution and prudence when deciding whether to deposit at an Ongame site until these problems are addressed.

Having practiced law in bankruptcies and receiverships, these types of problems are quite familiar and are very frequently last gasps before the debtor shuts the doors and packs it in, leaving the creditors to fight over the scraps.

I am NOT impressed if I get caught up like everyone else...2/3 of my BR is on that site ATM because I haven't made a withdrawal yet...I just made my first to take everything but what I need to play off...and when I have enough BR I'll take the rest off and start on another skin (Hollywood sounds like it's next for me).

Well, this is just incredible. Poker.com offered to pick up the cost of the packages for the WSOP qualifiers from CheckNRaise. CnR is cooperating. Poker.com is not even on the ongame network.
