The Grosvenor Vic is one of my favourite places to play in the UK. Some miserable players but it's one of the bigger casinos around and they sometimes get some nice mid-level games going, there's often a nice £2/5 or £5/10 PLO game which you'll never see anywhere else. There's also a Grosvenor in (erm I think) Knightsbridge, about 10 mins walk from the Albert Hall which spreads a few different games, worth phoning round to see what the arrangement is re: joining and what games are spread what nights. Most places will run small buy in tournaments quite regularly, cash games less common.

Never played at the gutshot but Ricardoon has and I think he mentioned that he thought it was pretty good. You may have to sign up 24 hours in advance and make sure you have some photo ID with you, preferably a drivers' licence or something.

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

I went to the gutshot last friday for the first time. They had a £20 freezeout (self dealt until final table) and the blinds increased every 20 minutes, which I thought was a bit much. I was pretty card dead throughout (busted out with A7s when I pushed all in preflop and ran into both AA and KK). The standard of play wasn't brilliant and out of the 63 runners I came 18th, which I guess wasn't too bad for my first live tournie.

They have cash games running, unfortunately I didn't get round to playing (I was there is other members of the Poker Night Live forum). At 1pm there was a 15 person waiting list.

The club is pretty small, but friendly for the most part. If you're not a member, just turn up with your passport or driving license and ask for a membership form at the bar.

Oh and if you get hungry, the food is great and you get plenty for your money.

They also have computers so you can play whilst you wait for your live table.

Website is www.gutshot.com (and they have a 500% first time deposit bonus up to $500 (so thats $2500) on their internet poker room)
