New Laptop

Okay so i kenda gave my old laptop to my girlfriend and I miss playing in front of the tv a bit. So I saw this cheapo laptop at best buy and wanted to know if anyone thought it was worth it. Comes as a package with a wireless mouse, bag, and flash drive - for $599.

Also if I get the laptop should I get a service plan? (their service plan includes new batteries for the duration - it is $199 for 2 years and $249 for 3 years)

Standard Laptops for Poker Players are the Dells with the 17" WUXGA screens (1900x1200) so you can play on more tables even on sites that don't have flexible re-sizing.

For $1200 you can get one specced with Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 256 GT graphics card (and bigger battery). That sort of machine is pretty good as a general use machine too.

Unless your budget is very tight or you just want a spare portable then that is probably worth holding out for.
